Spring is on it’s way…

March 2019

Discover what's been happening behind the scenes with our director, Fiona Willan in her seasonal spring review.

March 20th is officially the first day of Spring although we have had a little taster of it recently whetting our appetite for what is to come. The transition from winter to summer, Spring is typically a time connected with rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal and regrowth, flowers start to appear, birds start building their nests and farmers deliver new born lambs.

The first day of Spring is called the Vernal Equinox, this being the Latin term for spring and equal night, indicating the day should be exactly 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness. Although this is not always the case, the daylight hours do increase as the season progresses.

Here at Willan Homes we are buzzing into Spring just bursting with new ideas we’d like to create. We’re already planning for future sites, starting with the layout on the ground, working on the design of the different house plans, choosing the exterior look and feel to transform into a peaceful retreat you’d like to call home. With so many new projects in the pipeline we are happy to welcome on board our new Project Manager, Joshua Jackson who with three weeks under his belt is already full of ideas that will fit right in with the Willan brand. We look forward to collaborating with Josh whose enthusiasm and excitement for this new stage in his career is infectious and gearing us all up in this transitional time.

The longer daylight hours always spur our lads on at site, they are doing an amazing job at both Melmerby and Lazonby even through the winter months. Melmerby is well out of the ground and taking shape. Set right at the base of the Pennine Scar to the Eastern edge of the Eden Valley the amazing views from the home base are only surpassed by the breath taking ones on the approach from Langwathby. This quiet traditional backwater is a wolf in sheeps clothing with many amenities available offering a country escape from the pressures of everyday life.

Our Lazonby site has provided a mammoth task in earth movement in order to prepare for the beautiful “Lakeland Village” type setting we are going to grow out of it. We are several weeks in but going at a great pace and the many challenges this site has provided will make it all the more satisfying to complete. With reservations already coming in, interest is high in this sure fire winner and if you haven’t already checked it out take a look under current homes at Blossom Hill.

Phase II at Ousby is fastly approaching its first two closing dates in April with future owners excitement growing as moving day draws nearer. Early reservation has afforded the buyers to make some amazing choices from our pre determined ranges helping to make their home their own. With stunning views on both sides of this site, Meadow Close compliments the layout of Phase I, Ullesby Gardens, making this a very attractive addition to the village of Ousby.

If you would like to own a Willan Home, please do not hesitate to contact us, we look forward to hearing from you.

From our home to yours, have a lovely Spring.

Fiona Willan is a director of Willan Homes and Developments, a family run development company now in its second generation of builders.
