Lockdown Updates

As England enters it’s second period of lockdown we take a look at what this means for the housing market and construction industry, as well as the measures we are taking to keep our staff, customers and the public safe.

It has been announced that the housing market is to stay open. Little change has been made to the guidance on home moving during the pandemic indicating that it is still possible to move home freely.

Whilst measures to fight COVID-19 apply initial viewings should be done virtually wherever possible. For our most recent development at Langwathby we have invested in a fully immersive virtual reality tour so potential buyers can view the site in life like detail from the comfort and safety of their home.

Guidance suggests that physical viewings may be permitted subject to some restrictions however, as a precaution we have re-scheduled any unnecessary site visits until after 2^nd December to try and help mitigate the risk of infection.

When it comes to moving between properties it is recommended that you and those in your household should try to do as much of the packing yourself as you can before arranging a removal firm. Removal firms can carry out work, but their usual procedures may be different to ensure moves take place more safely.

Our handover processes should not be too dissimilar to normal but wearing masks and practicing social distancing is strongly advised to all. Digital handovers will be offered if preferred.

Construction work is encouraged to continue by the government, and we will endeavor to carry on as usual wherever this is achievable. In the first phase of lockdown some disruption to supply chains was inevitable even so we cross our fingers and look forward with a positive outlook.
