April 2019
Stay at home and create some precious family memories this Easter.
Just in case you need some inspiration we have popped together a list of our favourite home day activities ideal for keeping little people entertained from breakfast till bedtime.
Decorate Easter Cookies
For an easy option use store bought cookies and let children explore their imagination making colourful Easter designs from icing and sweets. Feeling a little more creative, why not bake your own cookies from scratch allowing little ones to get their hands messy in the process?
Scavenger Hunt
Create a list of items around the house and ask your children to go and find them. Weather permitting you could extend the hunt outdoors.
Bubbles
All children love blowing bubbles. Simple!
Host an Indoor or Outdoor Picnic
Every day is a great day for a picnic. Lay out a blanket and enjoy some homemade sandwiches and treats.
Easter Egg Sensory Tray
Learn all about Easter with a hands-on sensory tray. All you need is a deep empty tray or box, some straw or shredded paper (rainbow-coloured recommended but not essential) and different shaped Easter eggs. Put it all together then let your children entertain themselves finding all the eggs.
Make an Indoor Den
Champion your inner child and help them make a cosy retreat out of sofa cushions, bed sheets and blankets.
Easter Themed Homemade Playdough
Make your own playdough in bright colours and pastels to give it a seasonal touch. Add a little sparkle by sprinkling in some edible glitter. Visit the BBC Good Food website for their easy to follow recipe. www.bbcgoodfood.com
Homemade Pizzas
Edible artwork is always a winner. Buy in pizza bases and toppings then allow your little ones to garnish their pizza producing fun designs as they go.
Draw Outside with Chalk
Introduce your little ones to hop scotch or make learning fun by helping them to practice letters and numbers.
Go on a Walk to the Park
Time for fresh air? Take a walk to a local park and allow them to let off some steam!
Movie Night
Popcorn at the ready. Snuggle up on the sofa and watch a family film together.
Time for bath and bed!
